Another Revolution in Physics?

In A Revolution in Physics? I reported that my friend Ben Solomon developed a new equation for gravitational acceleration that does not involve mass.  This research has been published in Physics Essays.

Now Ben tells me that he will be presenting another paper “Non-Gaussian Radiation Shielding”, at a conference sponsored by NASA and DARPA ( the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency).  The conference, the 100 Year Starship Study, is devoted to finding practical means to achieve long-distance space travel.  It will be held in Orlando in September.

Ben found that the probability distribution of the photon is not Gaussian (the normal bell curve), as is commonly believed.  Instead, it follows a modified Gamma distribution.  This result could lead to a light weight technology to shield spacecraft from radiation.

More on Ben’s work can be found at his website.
