Poul Anderson on Complexity

From science fiction author Poul Anderson:

This provocative quotation launches a chapter in Out of the Labyrinth: Setting Mathematics Free by Robert and Ellen Kaplan.  Their book asserts “that math should be taught as the highest form of intellectual play.”
